Office Hours
Our office is open Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. We close for lunch between noon and 1:00 pm. Dr. O'Young is available after hours by calling
(618) 741-4689 and leaving a message. For emergencies, please go to your nearest emergency room.
Appointments
Patients are seen by scheduled appointment. We make every effort to schedule ample time for your appointment depending upon your medical needs. In order to schedule a sufficient amount of time for you, the receptionist may need to ask you questions of a personal nature. Everything that is heard or said in this office is held in strictest confidence. We are here to meet your medical needs.
We request that new patients arrive 15 minutes earlier than their scheduled appointment time to fill out paperwork. You may print out the forms from the
Patient Forms page and fill them out ahead of time if you desire.
We strive to run on time. If we are running behind, or if the doctor is called out of the office for an emergency, we will make every effort to contact you ahead of time. We request that you call us to reschedule a day in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment.
Patient Relations and Test Results
Every patient's record is confidential between that patient and Dr. O'Young. This policy extends to minor patients under the age of 18 as protected by Illinois state law.
Results of all tests requested by this office are reported to the patient by telephone, usually within 2 weeks of the test being performed. Dr. O'Young reviews all of the results herself. Patients are informed of all test results, even normal ones.
Phone Calls
Dr. O'Young does not use an 'advice nurse' but prefers to answer her own calls. Whenever possible, the patient herself should make the call, both for confidentiality and for accuracy of information. Calls are generally returned either between office patients or at the end of the day. Not all situations are resolvable by phone; some patients will be asked to make an appointment.
