I love performing laser hair reduction because it is a procedure that really works.
After giving up obstetrics, I investigated other services I could offer my patients. I sampled a ton of laser devices and underwent many various laser treatments myself. There's nothing like being your own guinea pig! My goal was to find something that actually works, something with clear benefits for my patients. I hate it when I get suckered into purchasing something that doesn't really work and then feel ripped off. I practice medicine the same way. If I don't think a gynecologic surgery or drug is going to help your medical problem, I'm going to discourage you from having the procedure or using the drug.
After doing extensive research on the laser equipment that was available and putting up with the pushiest sales representatives that wanted me to buy their laser because it did everything, I settled on the Cynosure Apogee Elite. It is great at permanently reducing unwanted hair.
Hair reduction is my primary use of this laser. Other applications of the laser are
- Laser skin rejuvenation (laser facial)
- Hyperpigmentation treatment (sun spots)
- Spider Vein and Cherry Angioma treatment (red spots)
While I have done the above applications with my laser, hair reduction seems to offer the most universal response with excellent results.
Popular areas for hair reduction are underarms, legs, arms, upper lip, chin and bikini lines of all types, including Brazilians. My male clients have chosen to have their backs, necks and beards done. All skin colors can be treated by my laser: black, white, and Asian.

One final note: I personally perform all of the laser treatments and consultations myself. You will find few other laser treatment providers where the physician fires the laser herself. In some facilities, especially spas, the doctor who is supposed to be supervising the use of the laser has often not stepped foot in the place for a very long time. Keep in mind that a laser is a medical device and should be treated as such. I perform these procedures myself for patient safety and comfort.
